报告人介绍:
Prof. João Rodrigues, Director of the CQM-Centro de Química da Madeira/Madeira Chemistry Research Centre (FCT–UI674 –A National Research Unit, with more than 50 researchers), University of Madeira, Madeira Island/Portugal.
João Rodrigues completed his Ph.D. degree in the Synthesis of New Organometallic Materials withNonlinear Optical Properties in 1999 at the University of Lisbon, Portugal. He is, since 1999, a staff member of the University of Madeira (Madeira Island/Portugal) and the main responsible for the areas of inorganic and organometallic chemistry, nanochemistry, and nanomaterials.

Since 2013, he belongs to the General Council of the University of Madeira. He is theleaderat CQM of the Molecular Materials Research Group (MMRG) and director of the Master in Nanochemistry and Nanomaterials offered by the University of Madeira since 2012.He is/was the principal investigator/member of several national and international research projects and scientific networks. Currently is Guest Editor of Current Topics in Medicinal Chemistry (2015, 15, 1161-1289. IF: 3.45), special issue on "Self-assembled Organic Nanostructures in medicinal chemistry: Advances and Applications".

He is a founding member of the University Industry Innovation Network and was chairman and main organizer in different conferences in the field of Chemistry and Nanotechnology. He serves as referee for several peer-review journals andhis students (Post-docs, Ph. Ds and Master students), have obtained positions in several universities and companies in Portugal and abroad (e.g. USA, Sweden, Brazil and China). He has authored 48 peer-reviewed articles in high impact journals (h=13, Average Citations per Article: 18), 1book chapter and8 proceeding papers. He was a visiting scientist in several universities abroad (namely in P. R. of China, India and Brazil) and has delivered more than 20 invited talks and 56 other oral presentations in international conferences, research institutions and universities.

His main research interests arebased on the design, synthesis and characterization of dendrimers/metallodendrimers, molecular wires, nanoparticles and polymers for optoelectronic and biomedical applications (e.g. emergent and infectious diseases and oncology).
