Recently, the research group led by Professor Liu Runhui (Shangsi Exploration Scholar) from the School of Materials Science and Engineering of our university has reported a strategy of synergistic and co-delivery of drugs based on host defense peptide mimetic assemblies. The developed synergistic co-delivery system can effectively treat systemic fungal infections and fungal meningitis.
Entitled Effective combinatorial antifungal therapy using a host defense peptide mimic that self-assembles into delivery micelles, this research finding was published in the internationally authoritative academic journal Nature Biotechnology (Nat Biotechnol 2025, DOI: 10.1038/s41587-025-02930-3).
