Hosted jointly by the School of Materials Science and Engineering and the School of Chemistry and Molecular Engineering of East China University of Science and Technology, the 3rd International Conference on New Materials for Environment and Energy (NMEE 2025) took place in Shanghai from December 12 to 14, 2025. It was co-organized by the Institute of Flexible Electronics (Future Technology) of Xiamen University, Lanzhou City University, Hangzhou Innovation Institute of Beihang University, and Xi'an Academy of Eco-Sciences. Academician Zhu Weihong and Academician Tu Shandong served as Honorary Chairs of the conference, while Professor Chen Xin and Professor Xie Guohua were the General Chairs.


NMEE 2025 focused on interdisciplinary exchanges and industry-university-research collaboration in materials, chemistry and energy sciences. It aimed to promote in-depth dialogue between academia and industry in the fields of energy materials and health & safety, and jointly explore feasible pathways from basic research to practical applications. Du Jianzhong, Dean of the School of Materials Science and Engineering, and Ma Xiang, Dean of the School of Chemistry and Molecular Engineering, attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches.
