Recently, the research group led by Professor Liu Runhui from the School of Materials Science and Engineering of our university has developed a versatile novel cationic catalysis strategy, which enables the simultaneous realization of ultrafast and controlled synthesis as well as efficient closed-loop recycling of amino acid polymers, holding great promise for advancing the circular polymer economy. Entitled Cationic-Catalyst Strategy Enabling Ultrafast and Controlled Polymerization and Efficient Depolymerization Towards a Circular Polymer Economy, the relevant findings were published in Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. (DOI: 10.1002/anie.202520392) and selected as a Very Important Paper (VIP) of the journal.
