Nanomaterials have become a global focus of scientific attention and research, with significant progress achieved in both preparation techniques and theoretical studies. The key to their industrialization and application lies in the engineering research of preparation processes. Our research team focuses on low-carbon energy and chemical engineering, energy conversion materials, and polymer composites, investigating the structure-property relationships across multiple scales. We aim to address fundamental chemical engineering challenges in material structure control, enabling applications in green electricity synthesis, advanced energy conversion, and energy storage batteries.

Our team pioneered the application of chemical engineering theories and methodologies to the preparation and processing of nanomaterials, establishing distinctive strengths in material structure regulation and engineering research. We have received support from numerous national research projects, including key programs of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, international science and technology cooperation initiatives, the National High-Tech Research and Development Program (863 Program), and major basic research projects in Shanghai. Our achievements include the Second Prize of the National Natural Science Award (2020), the Second Prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award (2009), the First Prize of the Shanghai Technological Invention Award (2017), the First Prize of the Shanghai Natural Science Award (2014), the First Prize of the Ministry of Education's Natural Science Award (2010), three First Prizes of the Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Award (2009, 2006, 2004), and multiple provincial/ministerial-level Second Prizes in Science and Technology Progress and Natural Science.

The team includes 3 Fellows of the Royal Society of Chemistry, 1 Fellow of the International Association of Advanced Materials, 2 Clarivate Highly Cited Researchers, 2 Yangtze River Scholars, 1 Distinguished Young Scholar, 1 Leading Talent in Scientific and Technological Innovation under the National Ten-Thousand Talent Program, 5 Outstanding Young Scientists Fund recipients, 1 Overseas Outstanding Young Scientists Fund recipient, 1 Young Elite Scientist under the Ten-Thousand Talent Program, 3 Cross-Century/New Century Excellent Talents of the Ministry of Education, 5 Oriental Scholars Distinguished Professors, 3 Shuguang Scholars, and 7 Shanghai Rising-Star Program awardees. We have been recognized as Innovation Team in Key Areas of Ministry of Science and Technology of Nanomaterial Chemical Engineering, Discipline Innovation and Talent Introduction Base for Higher Education Institutions of Low-Carbon Energy Chemical and Engineering, and Shanghai Talents Program Team in New Energy and New Materials.
