Under the guidance of market demand for the talents, aim at training composite qualified personnel with solid fundamental learning, broad professional knowledges and fine character, the School is engaged to positively improve character education in groups of the students by stressing the need for scientific development and striving to become a person of ability. The main practices to achieve the goal involve: constructing a webified managing system which is composed by an interconnection of horizontal work managing system with classes of the academic year as main body and vertical work managing system with sub-League committee as main body; constructing a pluralistic managing system which is a combination of a fixed managing mode with teaching classes as main body and a mobile managing mode with student communities as main body; and constructing an enduring effect service mechanism with the guidance of student and employment demands.

Rely on the student organizations---- sub-League committee, student union, student representative assembly, and various students¡¯ societies, motivated by a desire to make progress and strive for success, with realistic approach, the School develops for the students sports and recreation activities of all kinds: Student of the School repeatedly gained excellent results in the yearly three festivals----Cultural and Arts Festival, Science and Philosophy festival, and Sports Festival of ECUST, Out campus, furnishing a vast stage for self-showing and building up work capacity, the School encourages the students to take part initiatively in various kinds of contest and competition at home and abroad, such as international Contest for Mathematical Modeling, China Undergraduate Challenge Cup for Business Plan Competition, Innovation and Invention Cup Competition, and English Oratorical Contest, and have got good results consecutively.
