Polymer processing laboratory is dedicated to solving challenging problems relevant to both academic and industrial world by combining engineering and chemistry in the context of polymer science. Polymer Processing Laboratory is now developing into an innovative team major in the design of biomass materials, wood polymer composite, engineering plastics, polyolefin, damping materials, the applying exploitation of recycle polymer, the manufacture of novel rubber materials, syntheses and functionalization of polymers via reactive extrusion, preparation of polymer based functional composite, silicone self-crosslinking materials, silver conducting paste for solar cell. Now there are 8 faculties and more than 60 graduated students focusing our research on reactive processing, blending and composite of polymers.

In Polymer Processing Laboratory, there are a wide range of analytical equipments specifically dedicated to polymer alloy and polymer analysis together with the materials preparing equipment to solve common and advanced problems, such as DSC, DMA, POM, Haake blender, Extruder machine, Injection machine, Rolling-blender and so on.

The faculties acquired many projects, including National Natural Science Fund project, National Science and technology support program project and other scientific research project. More than patents have been applied, and more than 10 patents have been authorized. We published 20 SCI/EI papers every year. We have won many awards including the 2009 Shanghai science and Technology Progress Award, and Shanghai Technology Invention Award in 2010 and 2011. We established close cooperation with domestic and foreign enterprises, and solve a lot of technical problem faced with the enterprises.
